Hi everyone,
I wanted to take a few minutes to share what’s been happening around the park and what’s coming up as we wrap up a wet, hot yet fun summer.
Payroll & Workers Comp Changes
I've been working on transitioning our payroll and workers' comp providers to new companies that will generate significant savings for Sawmill next year—over $50,000 a year back into the business. That’s a major win!
Community Outreach & Promotion
We’re taking a page out of the playbook from the health service groups that have come through Sawmill and started our own version of outreach. We’ve partnered with Kurt’s Place in Tampa on Friday nights to help get the word out about Sawmill. We’ve been doing giveaways, appearances, and face-to-face promotion with a great crowd that’s right in our target audience. Plus, we’ve installed banners and flyers at their venue for the nights we aren’t there. It’s all about staying creative in how we market.
Promotions Department Restructure
As part of our continued growth, we’re reshaping the Promotions team a bit:
Pablo will focus on weekly schedule, Social Media, and Graphic Design
Leo will continue as Show Director, responsible for booking show live entertainment, outreach coordination ( outside groups), and co-handling graphic design.
We’ve brought on Leonardo "Lenny" Soto as our new Event Coordinator. He’s been training for the past couple of weeks and will also be helping at the bar. His primary focus will be execution of events. I hadn’t met him before his interview, but he brings great energy and seems like a strong addition to the team.
I think the three of them working together will take our events to the next level and I look forward to seeing what they produce.
Well Permit Status
The well is almost fully permitted—Pasco County is just waiting on water quality testing now. I want to stress, Everything is complete on our end, and the next move is theirs.
Upcoming Memorial Services – September 6
We’ll be holding a joint memorial service on September 6 to honor:
Dennis Hill
Ron Godshalk
Jasmine Jimenez - Cast member
Bill Porto- Resident and Bartender
More details will be shared soon, but we hope many of you can join us in remembering these beloved members of our community.
Hurricane Season Reminder
We’re deep into storm season, so now is a good time to double-check your personal hurricane prep. We’ll also be sending out a few reminders and tips to help keep everyone safe and ready.
Speaking of weather, have you met our new Sawmill Weatherman?
Thanks again to each of you for helping to make Sawmill such a strong, connected, and ever-growing place to live, work, and play.
