Good Afternoon from One Magical Weekend in Orlando!
I wanted to take a moment to share a brief update on this week’s progress and ongoing initiatives:
Facilities & Operations Update
You were all provided a list of this week’s facilities updates. We will be diligent in making sure the open projects are completed ahead of our next busy season
Drug-Free Workplace Initiative
As part of our commitment to a professional and safe environment, We are in the process of company-wide employee drug testing.
Marketing & Community Outreach
Thanks to our long-standing relationship with One Magical Weekend and our healthcare partner Pineapple Health, we were able to attend this weekend’s expo at no cost to Sawmill —an event estimated to reach over 20,000 gay men/women ages 20–60 with disposable income. The same applies for next weekend at GayDays Orlando, where again, we will attend without incurring any exhibitor fees. These partnerships I have cultivated over the years are saving us thousands of dollars while placing us in front of our core demographic.
This year’s booth includes an interactive Plinko-style prize game, which has proven to be both fun and engaging for guests—and it’s been a great traffic driver.
As I type, Leo and Team are placing fliers under every hotel door while Curtis from the spa and I are manning the booth. Sawmill is well represented!
Upcoming: World Pride & HRC Engagement
Next week, I’ll be participating in World Pride and attending several HRC networking events to discuss best practices, exchange ideas on a global scale, and advocate for our community at Sawmill. I’ll also be distributing flyers alongside some shareholders and members - engaging directly with attendees on Pennsylvania Avenue during the pride march.
GayDays & Foam Party
While I’m in D.C., Pablo, Jorge, and The Spa team will be representing Sawmill at GayDays in Orlando, where we’ve been contracted to bring our signature Foam Party experience—another high-visibility opportunity that reinforces our brand.
Later this month, Pablo will be heading the street team at Stonewall Pride on June 14th and we will all be at St Pete Pride.
We sent out an "all call" for anyone looking to volunteer this month in spreading the good word of Sawmill!
June is shaping up to be a powerful month for exposure and outreach, and I truly believe this kind of visibility is crucial for our continued growth. If any of you are able to stop by one of these events and lend your support, I’d love to see you there.
Thank you for your ongoing trust and support in these efforts.
